How has your life changed after being crowned as Miss UK Nepal 2014?
: Winning the MISS UK NEPAL crown it’s a huge achievement for me and through the experience and training I have grown as a person and learned to see life in a different perspective. I believe I have learned to become the strong and independent women that we are today. I am privileged to have won this title through my hard work and undeniable motivation to go for my dreams.
Who is your all-time favorite Miss Nepal, why?
: I wouldn’t want to choose one because everyone is different and they have all contributed to the society in their very different ways. But if its about choosing then I would choose MALVIKA SUBBA as she is one inspirational lady. After winning Miss Nepal she has never stopped to inspire younger generation, including women to prove in the society what one women is capable of.
What is your current plans as being the reigning Miss UK Nepal?
: Miss UK Nepal is not just about winning but continuing to give that hundred percent as an individual to the community. As a young women, I believe if you want to be the change then you have to be the change. Beauty with purpose is on its way and as an individual I want to be a strong role model and inspire younger generations.
What has been the biggest disappointment in your life & how did you deal with it?
: Life isn’t always rainbow. There are happy days and then there are also sad experiences which I believe we all have to overcome. When we learn to overcome our fears and learn from our experiences then we can always become better and stronger person then we were yesterday.
Describe your fashion sense & style.
: Fashion is about expressing yourself. I believe its about being creative and it reflects your personality. I have been known as a girly girl but I wouldn’t mind to be daring and go for a new style. I love trying new things and I am an adventurous person.
Would we see you in Miss Nepal in the future years?
: It’s a great opportunity and I would love to be part of the show. So keep your hopes high and lets hope I can make it this year.
Any beauty secrets that you would like to share the readers of Missosology Nepal?
: Beauty is confidence. Beauty is all about having a strong personality. A wowen is most beautiful when she is happy and when she smiles. I would encourage young women to have a balanced life where you maintain yourself rather then putting too much pressure on changing how you look as nobody’s perfect and one’s ever happy no matter how much perfection they achieve. Let people love you for who you are and when you believe in yourself, there is nothing you cannot achieve.
Tell us about the most beautiful place you have visited.
: Home is where the heart is and there is no place like home. The most beautiful place I have visited is my homeland Nepal.
Tell us about where did you spend your childhood and when did you move to the UK?
: I spent my childhood in the capital city Kathmandu. I have experienced the nepali culture and I carry my values with pride.
We have heard that you enjoy to sing, could you tell us what kind of music do you like to listen and sing?
: Yes, I love to perform. I love to sing and dance and work as an radio jockey. I listen to different types of music depending on my mood but my favorite is RnB.
What do you like to do for fun with friends?
: I like to go out and do something social i.e. bowling, holiday, shopping, travelling , dancing, etc. .
How do you think a beauty pageant like Miss UK Nepal brings change to the Nepali community in the UK?
: In this 21st century, if women are given the right platform like MUKN then it will surely change her life and a nepali community. When a young women like me has the willpower and confidence to achieve the title then I believe when she sets her mind onto something, she can surely make a difference.
Miss Universe Organization now allows transgender to compete in their pageant system, what’s your take on this?
: I believe in this 21s century, we should learn to celebrate our differences as being a transgender it is not a western idea but a human reality that we all should learn to respect and accept. If we do that than we are walking in the shadow, we cannot set boundaries on people due to any stereotype.
What qualities do you feel you have that would make you a great Miss UK Nepal?
: I have learnt to believe in my abilities and shine through as an individual no matter what I do. To have come this far and achieved the title it has allowed me to prove to people that no matter where you are from you can still achieve it if you just take that first step towards the destination.
